1948 8n transmission ticking noise

I have a 1948 Ford 8n. Before this ticking/knocking sound started the tractor would pop out of reverse either on a bump on the road or when I pressed on the clutch pedal ( engaged)

Now the tractor makes a loud knock/ticking sound anytime the clutch is not engaged. I pulled the top cover and drained the oil. From what I can tell is the lower shift rod(I think that's what it's called). What is that rod connected too? Any ideas as to the cause of the problem?

I've taken a video

Jason,Rotate the gears around by hand clutch petal blocked down ,engine off, and inspect upper and lower gears for a chipped or broken tooth.

Thank you for the response. I will check it out tonight.

One thing g I forgot to mention was once this knocking sound started it will not stay in reverse.

Well I guess I figured it out. A couple gears are definitely broken. Just have to figure out which ones they are to order them.

I figured I should change the bearings and possibly the clutch. Anything else?
