Really all the views and noone can tell me anything ,,,,i know hygard for the hydrolics is what i need .What do i use in the trans ?
the transmission is not hydrostatic so dose this mean 90w or hygard?

John Deere originally filled these with a 90wt. SCL oil. The S C l stood for sulpher chlorinated lead in the oil.
Which was soon removed from the market because of the lead content. So now the best replacement oil would be an 85-
140 EP type gear oil for the transmission and final drives. The hydraulic was filled wit 10 wt non detergent oil
from the factory. As the system became worn people would use a 20 wt oil for them as the pump weakened. The Hy-
tran oil would not be too far off.

If you have a reverser make sure it is set properly. probably should get a manual. those parts are very hard to find.

Mother Deere is sporting enough to provide a free parts book on the JD web site.
The operator's manual and service manuals are at 1-800-522-7448 if reprints can not be found from Green magazine vendors.
