Hey guys new to this forum/site.

Have just bought a WD-6 tractor to restore and bring back to life. Runs well and all just unsure of what year.. the serial number on the right side stamped on a plate I believe?? Side of the transmission/ clutch housing reads AW7DAW7 D 683
With 4 numbers below and seperate reading 1595

I have tried to attach a picture but not sure if working

Cheers any help would be appreciated

Is this tractor a direct electric start diesel? I expected to see a magneto, carb and intake manifold on the right side of all gas
start diesels. Did the wd6 have series like the td6? 61 series starts in 1940 and the 62 series started first couple of years in
1950"s. I would expect a wd6 would have awesome power! Have you run it yet? curious chuck.

Sorry can't get the photos to work for some reason. But yes direct from battery to starter motor and carb inlet all yes.

Runs really well smooth and doesn't miss a beat. Gear selectors a bit finicky need to tighten up and build the gear shaft up

IF the tag is correct, you don't have a WD6, you have an Australian AW7 (Diesel). Your serial number indicates an early one, so I'm pretty sure that's going to be IIRC 57, but I didn't think they started until like 1000 or something. BTW, you need permission to post pics. Go to the site comments section and ask for permission.
