I have recently started a restoration project, and my first time working on a letter series Deere. The clutch seemed to be stuck slightly engaged. I decided to pull the whole assembly off and see what was going on.
From what I can tell, it looks like the clutch operating sleeve (as it is referred to in the manual) is stuck and not sliding. Does anyone have any advice on fixing this, and is it common? Right now it appears to be a few inches away from the gear, which I believe is in the engaged position. How is it returned in normal operation? Any help would really be appreciated!
