MF 165 Hydraulics & Automation

I want to turn my MF165 into a remote controlled tractor. The power steering hydraulics does not seem to work(needs repair etc). will it be possible to reuse the same cylinders( with additional plumbing) to attach extra solenoid operated valves? Can someone point me in right direction. My initial thought was to use stepper/servo motors for controls but since most of hydraulics is already available, using hydraulic controls seem more robust approach. Please, excuse my vague question as I am trying to keep my options open and all answers may be good.

It may prove difficult because the steering on a 165 is power
assist more than it is power steering. Check your filter and oil
level would be my first step in trouble shooting the PS.

what if I just decouple "the assist" from the steering and use it to control? Then the question becomes:
Will there be any problems if steering cylinder pushed the tie rod using electronic controls and will be steering rack/pinion cooperate?

Find a copy of the newest Oliver Heritage magazine. I think it's available at TSC. There's an article in there about a 770 Oliver being converted to remote control in 1958. It had 7 different functions. The article might be helpful to read.
