Hydraulic fitting mystery

I bought what I thought was a hydraulic shut-off valve with 1/2" NPT female openings. 1/2" NPT will not fit into the valve (too big) and 3/8" NPT is too small. So now I'm trying to figure out how to adapt this thing from what it is, to what I want it to be (1/2" NPT). Here's the info on the valve:

Parker Hydraulic High Pressure Ball Valve 6,000 PSI Part BVHP08SSS1NG
Another number on the opposite side; 11-007

I've searched around on the internet for that specific valve, hoping to find details on the fitting needed, but so far have struck out.

Here's a link to the valve that I bought;

Thanks for the tip Bob - I was hoping you were around.

I'll check it in the morning - heading out to the kid's in a few minutes.

Another tip is with straight thread O-ring there will be a chamfer at the top female threads where the O-ring seats/
Less problems with leaks with those compared to pipe threads.

I noticed that chamfer at the lip, but what puzzled me is there is what looks like a tapered seat in the bottom of the opening. I wondered if it was supposed to seal in that bottom taper, but I tried everything at the local farm store today, and none of the taper seal fittings were long enough to bottom out. I'm convinced that the o-ring fitting is gonna work.

Thank you for your comments - everything around here is NPT so I'm a dummy on the others.
