Ford 1510 - Radiator Fan play/wobble

Noticed over the summer that the fan in my 1510 had some play in it. Since it's gotten cold (upstate NY mountain cold) I believe the radiator fan is actually making some contact with the shroud surrounding it. Not sure if this is from the cold temp or the bearing getting worse. This tractor doesn't get worked too hard, probably not more than 100hrs a year.

From my repair manual, it looks like the bearing is in the water pump assembly. Is that right? Is there anything else I should check before putting a new pump in?

The repair will likely wait until the spring. Thanks for any advice.

Yeah, you're right - a lot cheaper to order the bearing and shaft then replace the whole pump. Thank you.

I will scare you a little,I had a water pump lock up, and it broke the housing, then the fan went through the radiator. That was around $400.00 in 1974.

Yeah, that wouldn't be a whole lot of fun. I don't have to run the tractor at PTO speed until bush hogging next year. Until then it's just pushing snow and hauling a few trees for firewood.
