Three point hitch lever

I am restoring a JD 1020. Yesterday the lever that is located beside my right leg (to raise and lower three point hitch, rusted thru and broke. First question:what is the correct name for this lever, and secondly, what is involved with removing and replacing it with a new one. As you can probably tell, this is my first attempt at a restoration, so please be as basic as you can.
Thanks!

First off I hate the term restore since you not likely to eb doing a true restore. To restore you bring it back to what it was when new are you doing that??

That said I have the lift cover off os a 1020 in my shop right now so I maybe able to look at it if it still uses the factory lever but since it has a loader on it it may not be hooked up that way any more

ccording to the free "John Deere - Parts Catalog" that is available on line you have the correct term, it is simply called a Lever. I implore you to become familiar with that site, it is a tremendous resource. Simply type in the model # 1020. Catalog # 970 1020 Tractor, in the Sectional Index, Sec. 70 Hydraulics, #29 Rock Shaft Housing Parts, You will find item # 20 Lever, Part # T22465. Still available from JD $ 454.43 or you can opt for the cheap route, John Deere Tractor Load Selector Lever T22465 | eBay..
