rust on disassembled stored engine

I have a disassembled Ford marine V8 engine that had less than 100 hours on a rebuild. It has set for about 10 years in a somewhat high humidity shop setting. The cylinder walls and other areas are coated with rust. Is there a boil out or tank type of cleanup that will remove the rust?

Probably, if it just light rust, go after it with a scotchbrite pad and oil on the rusty stuff, then clean it up just like you are doing a rebuild. Probably just a light surface rust that wipes off won't hurt the cylinders, but if it's on the crank journals or cam lobes, you have problems.
