IH 350 Restore - Carb leak from drip hole

Carb leaks quick thru the bottom notch when cranking and stops after cranking. Carb is in good shape and clean. No leak when just sitting. Heres a pic. If the bottom plug is bad how do you replace or fix it?

If your talking about the drain plug it is a simple pipe plug. If your talking about the brass thing it is suppose to be able to drip and is there so when you flood it the gas can drip out and fix the flooded condition

yes the brass thing - it leaks fast through there, wonder if it can be replaced. maybe not an issue but it doesn't drip, it seems to run.

If it's running out any time the fuel valve is on, the carb is flooding, as in the needle valve on the float isn't closing when the bowl is full.
It could be trash in the needle/seat, float sunk, float adjusted too high, or needle valve is damaged.

You can try shutting off the fuel, remove the drain plug in the bottom of the carb, let the bowl empty. Then replace the plug, turn on the fuel. Sometimes that will flush out any trash in the valve. If that doesn't fix it, the carb will need to come apart and see what's wrong.

If it only drips a few drops following a failed choke assist start, that is normal.

In either case, the drain is supposed to be there and open.
