can a Cat 15 be converted to kerosene?

I am ivor from UK and I would like to know if a caterpillar can be converted from only gasoline to gasoline start then change over to kerosene thanks in advance

What model? I assume it is spark ignition. Horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency all drop when low compression pistons are installed.
How about running kerosene in a diesel engine ? Military does it.

Alright I re-read you post and here is some data.
Is this crawler for use to earn your living or is it a hobby project to drive at antique shows ?
With 25HP on gas, being tracked and weighing 5000+ lbs it is somewhat under powered now. Reducing power down to 16 to 18 HP will make it gutless.

ivor from uk and thanks for reply
if I buy the Cat 15 it would be my intention to use the pulley to drive a sawbench which my late father bought second hand 60 years ago I would make a frame to fit crawler and also make a frame for sawbench so both pulleys line up perfect someone might think I am making a big job out of it but this is what I am going to do, I would use for sawing only occasionally and also do competition ploughing
so perhaps converting to kerosene is not a good idea
why do US military use kerosene in diesel engines?

Which serial prefix 15 is it? The early ones had a 5" stroke compared to a 4" stroke on the later ones. We have pieces of one at home, they were built as gasoline, but remember gas octane ratings were not what they are today. You might be able to run it on kerosene, but I'm not sure if the manifold will have enough heat exchange to burn kerosene effectively, it will take a fair amount of load to keep it hot. The slightly larger 22 was setup to burn kerosene.

Logistics and supply are simplified and safer. One product JP8 powers aircraft , road vehicles, off road vehicles , generators, ships and motor cycles from tropical heat to Antarctica cold .
No gasoline around to increase the risk of fire .

thanks for replies, I am thinking for the amount I will use the Cat 15 it will be best to leave it as it is, running on gasoline
