Hello there,
Kenny here.
I'm new, so thanks in advance for any and all help you all may render.
I'm also somewhat newly addicted to old tractors. I'm trying to show love to a TO-20 I bought. Here's my current problem (one I've never encountered before with cars/trucks/etc.!):
1. She had lots of leaks, but nothing too bad.
2. I changed the oil (as I always do upon getting anything with an engine).
3. Oil-pan-filter-cover's leaking like Edward Snowden!
4. Researched and nothing came CLOSE to working except Indian Head Shellac. Fine.
5. Pan's now drier than Jimmy Swaggert on Sunday, but now oil's streaming out of the air intake!
6. WT??? Never saw that before! So I'm thinking it's air-filter oil. So I remove that assembly, and she's still spittin oil.
7. I haven't a freakin' clue!!
8. Read something somewhere about bad timing causing oil-loss through the valves... but I can't imagine the thing being able to run with that much oil passing through the combustion chamber. And besides... no blue (or any other) smoke in the exhaust!?!
9. Oh yes! She starts/runs just fine. I did have to replace the starter, and had to remove the distributer to do that. But I pre-marked it, and it can't be too different than it was when I got it (which I know, doesn't mean it was right!). BUT...
