Hey all,
Does anyone know if there is any actual difference between the trumpet axle housing on an 8n vs a 2n? I have a 1952 Ford 8n/2N frankentractor and I am trying to determine what s 8N and what is 2N. I know it is an 8N front end, and I believe the back is an 8N too, but it had 2N rear rims, hubs and brakes. There is only one brake pedal on my tractor and it is on the right. The clutch is 8N style on the left, but I have no pedal for left brake at all. Is there a way to identify it the rear end (Minus hubs and brakes) is in fact 8N? It's possible they split the tractor at the rear and it is all 2N, or it's possible the replaced the rear trumpets along with the rims and brakes, or it's possible that they just shoved the 2N axles and rims in the 8N rear. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
