Preserving a 1947 2N Ford without repainting it

Does anyone have any experience with wire brushing and then wiping the chassis down with linseed oil to preserve original rust and semi paint look

I'm also interested in this subject. I recently purchased my uncles 73 2000 Ford and want to keep it all original-still has original paint.

To keep rust from spreading I have been spraying Fluid Film then spraying on Meguiers spray wax-it does not leave the wax residue old waxes did.

I will probably do this once a year or so.

My tractor dosnt have much paint left but I think it will still be cool to leave it as it is. Any opinions on using cooked linseed oil

Eastwood has a spray paint that protects the rust lol from getting worse and does not change the color or look supposedly. I found numerous thread on the interwebs regarding this and will report back.

From the little bit I have been reading clear coat is not effective as regular applications of oil/fluid film etc.

Fluid Film is still the best. Here was a independent study by a guy who wanted to see what worked best-raw metal outside for a year

I used Rustoleum 2x clearcoat on my 1940 9n, It looks satisfactory to me, but as careful as I was I
got a drop of gasoline on the hood and it left a mark. I am not sure what the answer is but I too
like the original look, but with a bit of a shine.

I use Penetrol, once clean, sticks to rust, paint, wood, fiberglass, etc.
