verify serial # on a 2N?

Recently picked up a Ford tractor at an auction and want to positively ID the model. The serial # as close as I can figure is 9N146551. The 9N at the beginning is throwing me off because everything I find on the Numbers is leading me to believe its a 2N. Any serial numbers gurus out there with any ideas. I want to start to bring it back to its former self but need to start with the right model. Thanks in advance to all those who can help!

"There are no 2N serial numbers; all 2N tractors retained the 9N serial numbers. The exception to the 9N or 8N format is the 9NAN and 8NAN prefix which identifies a kerosene burning tractor. These are common in Europe, but extremely rare in the US."

What Bob said. 9N 1939-1942. 2N 1942-1947. 8N 1948-1952. Notice the starting year is also the number used for model
