Tractor will start, run a few seconds and stop.

I have a 1974 Case c/k gas job. It will start but only run a few seconds. I have replaced fuel filter, loosened gas cap and removed air filter. Still no go. I have removed plug on bottom of carb and gas flows freely. Any Ida's guys????

You need to do some simple trouble shooting.
#1 make sure you have a good blue/white spark at the center wire of the distributor cap and at all the plug wires. It needs to jump a 1/4 inch gap or more.
#2 pull the carb drain plug and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas that will fill a pint jar in under 3 minutes.
#3 does choking it help??
If you have a weak spark or no spark right after you fired it up try a hot wire from the battery to the ignition side of the coil. If it runs then the problem is form the coil back tot the battery it it does not run then the problem is in the distributor.
