8n valve guides

this is my first 8n rebuild done many small and big block chevys as well as Harleys
my questions:
why only install the seals on the intake valve guides? the kits come with 8 of them
wouldn't the seals on the exhaust guides help with blow by into the crankcase or do they just swell up and seal from the heat?
also the intake guides seem to just slide right in, no metal was removed from the bores with a hone but just brushed clean the exhaust guides are a little bit tighter. I have a lathe & can knurl the OD of the intake guides for a little bit tighter fit but maybe the fit is good & helps the valve seat? or should i take a hone & really clean up the exhaust guide bores better?
any advice appreciated.

I've never been that deep into ab 8N, but loose valve guides does not sound right.

There is a Ford 8N board below. Someone there can tell you all you'll need to know.
 
Modern thinking is that the exhaust valve seals keep oil from being sucked through the exhaust guide during overlap. If they slip right in you know you need oversize OD guides. There is a spec for clearance valve stem to valve guide bore . That is what you need . Knurling may affect heat transfer. That guide needs to be tight in head.
 
Back when the 8N was made the thinking was that the exhaust valve got to hot for the o-ring to last long so they did not use them.

8N valve guides are NOT "in the head" and DO typically "slip right in" (until the rubber seal is installed).

you are right
after more research the other day &amp; some youtubes everything is going back together fine but I did have to ream the ID of the guides (made in Turkey) they were way under size could barely get a valve thru
