Hello everyone! I recently picked up a couple old Cub Cadet lawn tractors from a buddy that needed his pickup worked on but didn't have much cash at the time-the barter system ya know? One is a 1330 that ran until a few weeks ago and the other is a 1605 with most of the wiring burned up because someone chopped and spliced all of the wiring harnesses with stereo speaker wire. They're both actually in pretty decent shape, and, like I said, the 1330 ran great until a few weeks ago. The last time I ran it, it would only run about 1/2 throttle before it started popping/sputtering and blowing black smoke...obviously an over rich condition. I took the air filter assembly off and found that the choke wasn't opening completely and I'm thinking that this is what caused the original problem. Now, it won't even start. It cranks over fine and has good spark but still won't fire-even after using starting fluid. I'd really like to get it running again soon since even though the deck is shot I was using it to pull a small wagon for various chores. The 1605 is a long term, in my spare time project, but, I really was having fun riding around on the 1330, and, even though I was raised on Persian Orange, I'd still like to get these little fellas looking and running like they should. Any suggestions and/or parts suppliers for them will be greatly appreciated. I know that my Cubs aren't really that old but I just can't stand to see any tractor not being able to do it's job!
