wide front axle problem on farmall C

Greetings to all. I'm new to the site and just as new to the classic tractor thing. I recently acquired a 1950 Farmall C and am in the process of trying to return it to it's former glory. The steering arm had been broken and welded so many times, I have opted to replace with a newly fabbed one. The tie rods are adjustable but rusted together. I got those apart and they are now functional.

My problem is, the sliding adjustable axle is also rusted and doesn't look like it has moved since 1950. I got the clamp off and the set pin out but does anyone know how to remove the axle from the axle tube without catastrophic destruction?

Heat, penetrating oil, and patience will be your best friends. Based on my experience with a Farmall wide front end numerous
applications of your favorite penetrating oil potent will be the first step. Every time you walk by for a week or two period give
it another application. Heat, with some kind of pressure, will also greatly help. I ended up using two come-a-longs, one in a
straight out pull and one from the bottom of the spindle to the rear axle in a torque pull and eventually I had movement. Some
properly placed blows with a big sledge hammer may also help.

Thanks for your response. I am already trying to get solvent where I can put it. The next step will be judicious application of heat. I would probably just leave it alone, but some time ago, someone extended one side and not the other and it looks funny.
