Hello, new on this site, wonder if someone can help me ? I am trying to refit the clutch return Spring but it is extremely stiff, does anyone have any tips on how to get it rotated in place, (without losing any fingers!)
Thanks

I've had mine off for other repairs. It's really stiff because of the lack of leverage to lift the pedal. It's been a while so I can't remember how I did it but it was a struggle.

Do not know that tractor or that spring but in the past I have used a piece of rope and a piece of garden hose to make a handle so you can pull on the spring and get it into place. Once it is in place you simple untie the rope and pull it off

If it is the spring that has a roller on each end or looks like a roller away, I put the spring in a vise, carefully compress it and tie it with some wire on each side, then I loosen the bracket on the tractor and slide the spring in where it belongs and bolt bracket back in place. Finally just cut the wires. I just did one on a 2000.

Thanks for replies. I ended up forging a hook type tool to pull the spring round to the lug, then levered across with crowbar, worked well
eventually
