John Deere 38 sickle belt

Remove belt shield #17.

Loosen the nuts on 4 carriage bolts, #21.

Lower bearing casting #12 with bolt #9 to loosen belt.

Slip belt off and remove it by unfastening the pitman arm from the ball on the sickle head.

Slip new belt into place, snug it up appropriately with screw #9, tighten locknut, and 4 carriage bolts previously loosened.

Replace belt shield #17.

Does the manual say what size belt? The John Deere dealer is telling me two different sizes. One is 57 3/4" and the other one is 62". It appears that the one that broke measures 60"

Replace belt shield #17.
 
What is the diameter of the drive sheave (Key # 15)?

15"... use belt # H32802 (62-1/2")

13.33"... use belt # E39739 (57-3/4")

8-5/16", use belt # E32801 (48")
