Massey 36 swather

Hi guys new to the forum.I have a massey 36 swather with a Chrysler industrial slant six engine and am having some carburetor problems.the fuel is running back into the air cleaner. What kind of carburetor does it have and some tips on how to fix it..thanks.

I have a MF 36 swather but mine has a little Chevy 4 cylinder. Nice little engine. I'm thinking if you pull that carb and clean it good you will find numbers on it that may be traceable to a manufacturer. That would be my jumping off point unless someone here can tell you exactly what it is.

If it is a 1964 to 1969 model swather with a one barrel it should be either a Carter BBS or a Holley 1920, you can upgrade to a two barrel Holley
1945 but you also have to change the manifold. The two barrel upgrade will greatly improve power and fuel economy, especially if you use the
machine in hilly ground, I upgraded my 36 several years ago it did not cost much because those 225 Chrysler engines are a dime a dozen to
get parts off of, whatever it cost was easily paid back in fuel savings when gas was 3-4 bucks a gallon.
