Guys I have a question? I bought a tractor that someone started to paint and lost interest in. The tractor has been half painted. Should I take the tractor back to bare metal or scuff and use primer or or scuff and use existing paint as the primer? Thanks in advance.

Unless you know the ability of the person and the products used that started painting it I would take it down to bare metal. I would make the assumption what was done will peal off. The slightest amount of grease or oil under the paint and it won't adhere.

What kind of paint job do you want? What colors are used on the tractor? Often cheap paint tends to fade especially if the color red is used. If you want a good paint job which will last then automotive paint should be used.
