I inherited my grandfathers massey ferguson MF135
tractor. I am trying to keep the tradition going with
using it. I have done a lot of work on it over the
winter. I am down to the the last step changing fluids
and greasing it up.
I am stuck on the power steering. It is not
responding the easiest. I opened the power steering
reservoir and out looked dirty. It had a "pinkish" color
to it and foamy. It is located on the left side of the
motor near where to put the motor oil in it. It had a
filter invade puff the reservoir. There is two hydraulic
lines that run from it to one piston that attaches to
the left wheel only. Then a rod runs to the right wheel
to turn it.
My Big question is since it is pinkish can I use
automobile transmission fluid in it? Or what?
Thanks for the help in advance. .I have no local MF
dealership in my local area.
