4010 jon deere pto dont disengage

Just bought jndeeere 4010 and pto spins while running can't stop with foot. Havnt hooked it up to any thing yet. Was wondering if I should even try or is clutch stuck or something tractor Sat a while

Need more info to determine if it a PTO clutch or PTO brake issue, but unless you are a Darwin Award candidate wannabe, keep your bodily appendages off of the PTO.

I am new to the tractor I know it supposed to have a pto brake but feel no resistance when I pull back on the lever so I think it might just be the brake .I will book something to it then start tractor and see if is engaged or not. Thanks for the reply Bob and I know better

Post back when you get a little more familiar with what is going on.
