1946 farmall A starting issues

I have a 1946 Farmall A that ran when
parked last 5 years maybe more in a
climate controlled garage. I got it out
drained all the gas put fresh gas in and
it won't run. I rebuilt the zenith carb
new jets new floats everything on there
cleaned it all out really well ran a
torch tip cleaner through all the holes
used compressed air after that. All new
gaskets in and on the carb. It does have
a ton of suction when you crank it over
and put your hand over the intake to
carb. So I know it's got plenty of
vacuum. The intake exhaust gaskets are
good no leaks there. I can spray
starating fluid down the mushroom cap and
it will fire right up and then dies. I'm
completely lost. I really don't want to
go buy a new carb. And then it still
won't start... any help would be much
appreciated

Definitely sounds fuel related.

There is a drain plug in the bottom of the carb, pull the plug, catch what comes out in a clean glass. You can then look at what is in the fuel, check for water, trash. Also check the flow, it will start out full flow then slow as the bowl empties, but should have a continuous stream, not slow to a drip.

If the flow checks good, recheck the main fuel circuit. All fuel passes through the main jet. Since it won't run at all, and if there is fuel in the bowl, for some reason it is not getting through the main jet.
 
I've unscrewed the drain at the bottom of the carb and it comes out fast. The bowl under the tank fills up quick when you dump it and have a dry bowl. And also when you disconnect the fuel line from the carb and turn the fuel on it comes out quick so like you said it's got to be in the main jet some where some how... I'm beginning to be a pro at taking it off and taking the carb apart and cleaning every time I clean it all out I never get any thing out of it that I can visually see.
 
Now that you know there is fuel in the bowl, we need to find out why it's not getting drawn up the main discharge tube.

Search "Updraft carb theory", under images, find something that resembles your carb and study the main fuel circuit.

Typical causes of no fuel being drawn up are, a restriction (but that's not likely as many times as it's been checked), the venturi is missing or upside down, the bowl to body gasket is wrong blocking a passage, an air metering jet is missing allowing too much air to enter the circuit and not pull the fuel up.

I'll have to recheck all the gaskets make sure they aren't blocking anything.. and the Venturi has the circle part and then the hex looking part on it and a cording to the rebuild kit pictures I have it on the right way but then again it may not how is the hex part of it suppose to sit in there bc there's gaps around it when it's seated in there.. when I get home I can take some pics of it to show the better understanding of what I'm talking about.
 
Looking inside the venturi, the small end will line up with the end of the main discharge tube. Usually it will only fit in one way.
 
When you hold your hand on the air intake of the carb does you hand get wet with gas?? If the answer is no you still have a passage way clogged up in the carb or the float is set wrong and not letting gas in the float bowl. If you pull the carb drain plug you should have a steady flow of gas that will fill a pint jar in less then 3 minutes and yes catch the gas. When you clean out a carb you need to blow spray and poke out every passage way in the carb
 
I boil carburetors in water with a half cup of laundry liquid soap. then disassemble and soak in a basket of carburetor cleaner over night. I then use wire drills of different sizes in my fingers as well as thread taps to get the crud out. I rinse with water a couple times in the process and blow dry with compressed air. I also use little wire brushes and wheels in a die grinder for the bowl and larger threaded holes.

Did you even read the OP's post or did you just walk in and blurt out a generic answer?

He said it will start and run and then starve out.

that sound like points to you? NOPE!
