MF 135 diesel blow by problem? need some advise

I picked up a nice little MF diesel 135 with loader pretty reasonable. It starts hard, you have to crank a while. If you pull it it starts right up. When it runs it runs pretty smooth and sounds ok but it has a lot of blowby out the breather hose and drips quite a bit of oil out the hose. The exaust is clean. Any one have any ideas? My first thought is rings? I'm not familiar with the little perkins engine. Dick

over here in UK the MF 135 was very popular
do you know any history of the tractor and the reason why I ask is there is a dairy farm not too far away but has recently ended milk production like so many others and a MF 135 was used for scraping out and it was only used for this purpose and it had engine problems because it was not doing anything heavy could this be the problem with your tractor

No histoty on tractor. It has a loader and the tractor is pretty original. Still in good shape except the engine. I'm just trying to figure out how deep to dive in? Head gasket is one thing but more than that means removal of engine.

If the crank is okay you should not have to remove the engine. You can do an in-frame by removing the head and oil pan.

Looking at it, I did not think the pan could be dropped? I'll take another look at it. If I pull the engine I have to remove the loader. It has real good oil pressure. Dick

I have been chatting to a guy who used to work in the parts department at a local MF dealer he said to put just new rings in a MF 135 is a waste of time as it will not last very long afterwards
he also said if it has a loader to check the radiator core for blockage
