Case 930 hydraulic problem

Hey guys been lurking a little while first time posting. I have a case 930 CK 6 speed diesel. I've got a ez loader on it and for the longest time its been a little weak. Last spring i'm told the filter was cleaned (i'm skeptical). The problem i'm having now though is the hydraulic pump is making an awful racket when the levers are used, also its incredibly weak, like barley lift the loader a couple inches. When this first occurred I stopped and checked oil level which was admittedly low but topping it off didn't help at all. The first day it made the noise while the levers were pulled and then the grinding sorta noise continued for a short time after released, noise was were with higher rpm.

That was a few weeks ago, I hopped on again yesterday and the noise only happened when the lever was pulled and didn't seem to be affected by rpm much. I don't know really what to do but maybe replace the pump (if I can find one)

sorry if this post is a little confusing but I hope someone may have some information for me. Thanks

Replacing the pump is the last thing I would do. You need to check the hyd pressure first. Could be as simple as a bad 0-ring in the relief valve.
Move your question down to the Case forum. Lots of detailed help there.

Run the tractor for a while, use the hydraulics, let it make the noise. Then look in the tank or get an oil sample. If it's foamy, there is an air leak on the suction side of the pump. Could also be a clogged suction strainer.

If no foam, the pump would be the next place to look.

Steve,You are correct in theory, BUT; apparently you are not familiar wirh the Case 930 6spds. The pump and service valves are intergrated together, and the resevoir is part of the pto/tranny housing. That's why I told him to go to the Case forum. It is not as simple as you make it out to be, and the pump is not the usual culpret.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I don't know how to "move" my post. Do I just start another thread or is there a way to move this one?
