Hi All, I just replaced the wheel bearing and seal (front) on my bobcat 610. I have it all reassembled but I don't know how to set the bearing pre -load. My shop manual shows a scale hooked on one of the wheel studs. I tightened the castle nut as tight as I could and didn't feel a lot of resistance when I turned the axle. I just don't want to over tighten it and ruin the bearing. Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated...

Hi, I have reinstalled the axles on my bobcat 610. How tight doe the large nut inside the chain case have to be? When I took the axles out this nut was only finger tight. When I put it back together I snugged it up then bent the locking washer over. Now when rotating the axle it seems to bind a bit. The secondary chain gets real tight then real loose while I'm rotating the axle. If anyone could help me out with this I will greatly appreciate it!!

Sounds like a bent shaft/axle somewhere. If everything was running true, the tension would be even all the way around.
