640 sector arm seals, again

Can someone describe the method (trick) of removing sector shaft seals without removing the steering gear box from a Ford 640. The sector (pitman) arms came off easily.
Thanks.

put some grease (to catch savings) on a 1/8 inch drill bit and drill 2 holes in the seal.
screw in a wood screw and pull out with a slide hammer or pry bars.

don't even nead the drill, a pointy sheet metal screw will usually go right in a soft metal faced seal. I KNOW a drywall screw will... BTDT

PS.. even if it didn't. no need to pull the box off.

you can remove the sector side covers and pull the sector gears leaving the wormshaft in place, tin and hood in place, etc, IF you really really needed to.

Thanks for your comments. Wasn't going to attempt removal until I had new seals in hand. Local Napa can only get two seals today. You happen to know national or other mfg. part number as I have a seal supplier not too far away? I understand four might be required and I wanted to price compare. Napa wants $10+ each.

Found the Timken National number, 313842. They are $8 at Motion Industries. I will install two on each side as you suggested. Now I need to find some 00 grease in tubes.
