I was needing to increase the light level in the speedometer cluster on my jeep so I installed a couple LED lights. I turned on the lights and they worked fine. Then I started the motor and the lights started going back and forth from bright to dim. Anybody have an idea why they might be doing that?

I have a GMC pickup that dash lights ( not LED) did that twice. One time it was alternator going bad and other had the ground cable at battery had worked loose( don't like side mount posts). Just an idea!

In my case the led lights are wired in with the rest of the dash lamps and none of the rest of them blink. It's just the led lights. They don't go completely out they just dim about 50%.

Then I think I would call the company that made the bulbs and explain to them what's going on and maybe they could tell you what to look for or what's going on.

Put an analog volt meter across the leads, see if there is a voltage fluctuation. If not, I would contact the mfg or distributor.
