how do you install a trans input shaft oil seal?

Hi,can you help me?how do you install the oil seal around the shaft without ruining it?what kind of tool do you make?international (2)444 tractor thank you

I don't know the tractor, but on most seals that have to go a long way down a shaft, I grease the shaft real good, then find a piece of PVC pipe close to the OD of the seal to use as a driver and then slowly work it on

Joe,I like your style.thank you.I have a piece of sch.80 pvc conduit that matches pretty well.I bought a huge washer. Don't like it as a tool,though.I thought about back to back,old to new seal as a driver.anybody have a better idea?

I have used washers and pipe many times. Also, if the shaft is rough or has splines that may damage the seal, I wrap the shaft with black tape starting at the seal location and wrapping to the end of the shaft. The tape is smooth and will protect the seal lips.
