JD Model A 1946 compression numbers

I don't have the repair manual and was wondering if someone could give me the pressure on the cylinders.

Rwinnie,The all fuel model should be aprox 70psi wet,Gasoline model aprox 110psi wet if it is in good shape.

I assume mine is a gas model because it only has one tank. Is that right?

Yes,All fuel has a small gas tank in the rear of the big fuel tank to start on gas then switch over to fuel.

All 46 model tractors were all fuel tractors. Gas versions did not come out untill sometime in 47. If yours has a pressed steel frame then it is not a 46 model as that came out in 47 and the first gas tractors with the pressed steel frame did have 2 tanks. The angle type frame is what all 46 models had and there never was a gas version made with that frame and they all did have 2 tanks. So if you have a gas with one tank then it cannot be a 46.
