Massey Ferguson 1100 injector pump problem?

When I turn the engine on my Massey Ferguson 1100 off and leave the fuel shutoff pulled out, the tractor will restart even if not run for a few weeks. If I push the shutoff back in after the engine stops, it may restart normally for a day or two but longer than that there will be air in the injector pump. It runs for a second and stops, requiring the bleeding of the two bleed screws on the pump to get it restarted. Any opinions on this matter? Thanks.

Check the constant bleed orifice fitting on top of the filter base, if plugged any trapped air that's to go out of the fitting will go to the pump and cause the injection pump to shut down. Also make sure the supply pump is OK, sometimes the internal check valves come out of place. Had that happen awhile back on the neighbor's White 2-85, would run awhile after bleeding then die again. Supply pump hand lever didn't feel right either, replaced the pump and then worked fine. Another place air can get in is on the suction line from the tank, loose connections or pin holes will cause trouble too. May need to drain the tank and service the inlet screen, should be on the drain plug. Does the tank have any dents in the bottom? Had a 1100 with the right tank dented up, restricting the inlet line once. After draining the tank the line was pried away from the drain plug so it could pick up fuel again..
