My sister wanted me to see if I could start a restored G that her late husband had sitting for 3 years so I had a short window of time to look at it and said yes. I asked if she could charge the battery before I got there. I asked if it was a 6v battery and she didn't know but because it was vintage I told her to set the charger to 6v and let it run until I got there (around 3 hours). I looked at the meter and it indicated charging when I got there. The gas was low so I added gas and it poured out a drain in the bottom of the breather tube from the carb. Put a gas can under the carb. to collect it. What's up with this? After awhile I traced the fuel line back to the tank and found the shutoff valve and it appeared to be closed. After opening it the gas appeared to stop draining out the breather. The starter switch was pulled out when I originally looked at it and read the manual and saw this is the starting position. Wouldn't start. Pulled plug to ground - no spark. Need some help. Now wondering if converted to 12v. Don't remember how many cells on battery. I didn't have much time to work on. Any ideas out there? Thanks.
