How does a ford 8n show oil pressure at the gauge when the other line that ties into the gauge line tee dumps into the oil filter and then the governor housing? Does the oil filter create a restriction, or is there a restrictor in line somewhere?

Edssonjim The oil filter canister has about a .060 restriction hole in the center tube that restricts the oil flow into the oil filter. Then goes through the filter before it dumps its return line into the governor.

till restricts the flow, BUT direction is OUT the center tube with orifice.

JMOR,Your right, oil goes in on the outer edge of the filter then passes through the filter, then down through the orifice hole draining in the governor.I's been a while since I have really given it any thought.
