Thought the solenoid was bad so I changed it but it still won't start. It wants to , it even bumps the fan a bit, but won't.
When I check the voltage at the battery it is 12.4 But at the solenoid, battery post is 12.4, starter post is only 4.
Ignition post is also 4.
Tried 3 different solenoids all reading the same.
Any help is appreciated

A volt meter can and will read voltage that is not true since they have little to no draw so they read voltage that is not there in a way that will carry the amps. So good chance you have a bad battery cable or poor connections. By the way you can not look at a battery cable and tell if it is good or bad

Take the voltage reading while holding the starter switch. Needs to be under load for a proper test. Also
feel for hot connections. If it's getting hot, there is a problem with that connection.

Take a look at the cable going to the starter, if it's frayed replace it. Be sure to clean all the connections of any corrosion. Hal
