Aluminum coating

What is a good protective coating for aluminum? I have the clutch master cylinder out of an old car, and I want to protect it from corroding, just the humidity is attacking it. After years back I used clear lacquer on a manifold, and it has protected it but it looks way darker than the bare aluminum. I have some Tri-flon coating but that has to be renewed which would get on the wires and tubes near it.

On early cars with cast aluminum engine blocks we would clean them well, them shoot them with silver paint, and wipe it off with a clean rag before it can dry. The paint fills all the tiny voids and lines to keep it looking bright. Spilling the brake fluid will remove it

You can take fibergalss resin and brush it on,only thing is ,it will look yellowish...if you are worried about show quality than just powder coat it bright aluminum,,that will hold it up and keep its look for many years, just wipe off any fluid immediately and youll be fine
