Delaminating new copper head gasket

Paid the extra and got a genuine Perkins top end gasket set for a 3.152.
The 3 part head gasket is delaminating in several places on the ends and internally. Rang a different Perkins dealer and he said not a problem as they will "squish together" but use copper/hylomar spray if concerned.
Is the spray necessary/beneficial with this type of gasket as I will have to get it posted due to my location.
Thanks.

Its not really eradicate but given a Perkins tenancy to
leak antifreeze I would go a head and order the stuff.
It is very good for Preventing these problems ( at
least on aa allis Chalmers.

Copper Hylomar is for when you are at the dragstrip and have to make one more run ,A band-aid at best. It has no place on a fresh rebuild . Get a different brand gasket.

The dealer is correct, the gasket will compress back together when it is torqued down.

Back in the day we used to spray them with aluminum spray paint. Theory was, the aluminum paint actually had
powdered aluminum in it, which was supposed to fill the fine imperfections in the surface. It was a safe way
to seal the gasket because it went on dry. The danger with using sealer on a head gasket is having it squeeze
out and block an oil passage or steam vent. So if you do use a sealer, be sparing, don't want excess, but
just a very fine coat.

Also, that is a very thick gasket, be sure to retorque it at least once when it gets warmed up.

(quoted from post at 17:33:57 08/21/15) which was supposed to fill the fine imperfections in the surface.
I asked the machine shop who skimmed the head yesterday and he said that because the head is now perfectly flat and the block won't be, the spray would help to fill the imperfections.
Reading forum comments around the net on hylomar, I couldnt find any comments from people who had used it and had found leaks afterwards. That doesn't mean of course that it had stopped leaks that would have happened without it.
Not sure what to do on this one.

Steve , The aluminum spray paint is actually a recommendation in a Harley Knucklehead service manual. I had never seen it in writing. It is also supposed to help the gasket lay flat and spread down tight. That I would use in this case . I think it is a good idea.

And as we know, Harley technology is stolen from John Deere.

Spray paint is a joke and "Copper-coat" is not what it once was. Hylomar is one of the few sealants that resists modern gasoline, but does not belong on headgaskets or exhausts.

The tried and true method used with flathead racing and metal gaskets is to use a high temp enamal metallic paint like Bill Hirche's silver engine enamel. Brush it on both sides of the gasket heavily with a disposable foam brush to avoid hairs, and hang it up. When it dries enough to not get on your fingers, give it another coat. When it reaches that tack point again, install it, and torque it down as recommended in the manual. Start it, warm it up, shut it down. Next morning, retorque, by loosening and retorquing one bolt at a time. There is some squish, so go thin around oil galleys on non-flatheads.
Use nothing on modern gaskets.

I have a 240 but yours may be the same.

If it has R/H mount the numbers for the MF35, 3.152 are (I think)
Lucas 26273 or 27540 or LRS301.
