JD A drawbar frame bolts

Just discovered that my drawbar frame bolt holes are stripped on my 1950 JD A. They are 3/4 - 10 thread. What does everyone think I should do to repair them? I was leaning towards helicoils but is there a better way that I don't know about?

"is there a better way that I don't know about?"

Probably, but unless you haven't been conceived yet, a Helicoil will outlast you.

Heli-coils will work but there are other thread inserts, too. Jergens calls them Keenserts but there are others. Helicoils take less material out of the hole but require a special tap and installing tool. They are better for one-time installations like cylinder heads. The other inserts are thicker walled and use standard sized taps. Better for places where the screws will be taken out repeatedly. They do take more material out so not so good near an edge. Grainger, McMaster-Carr, MSC etc. should have them.
