farmall m / farmhand loader

hello friends; I need some guidance here I have a 52 farmall m with a farmhand loader, a control valve that is two single blocks, double action connected together one for lift the other for bucket. I have a farmhand PTO pump for the power, problems I have are lift does not rise all the way real slow, when I pull the lever on the valve for the lift there is play in action and the lift drops about 6 inches before it continues to go up. The lift is moving real slow (slower then the usual farmall slow) the lift only goes about 3/4's the way, real weak also, the bucket tilt on the other hand seems to work fine, I put new cylinders on earlier this summer. I don't see leaks, the tractor runs great has power, (45hp) I don't know exactly the power of the farmhand pump that I bought from a guy that used it on a log splitter. I don't know the size pump I should be using either, I think it may be mostly my control valve not holding the flow properly. I can surely use the expertise that some have given me in the past.

It does sound like the valve is the problem, especially with it dropping. Any way to switch the hoses from the lift and the bucket, see if the problem reverses?

thanks so much for the reply; I have yet to try that I have to figure that out since the bucket has two hose connections, but I will certainly give that my attention thanks Steve!!
