I have a 1967 JD 4020 that has been converted from
24 volt positive ground with a generator to 12 volt
negative ground with an alternator. I am going to
rrplace the fuel gage. They are asking if its a positive
or negative ground gage? And I am not sure what to
buy? The gage in the tractor looks original. I know I
converted my 730 diesel from 24v positive ground to
12v negative ground and when i hooked up the gage
it pegged the needle backwards towards empty and I
had to get a negative ground gage from Stewart and
Warner. I tried swapping the leads to the original
gage and it didnt help. Any ideas about this 4020? I
dont want to get the wrong gage and I know it wont
be returnable once I buy it.
