My 9n runs well for about 15-20 minutes then starts to spit and sputter like it's getting gas starved until it quits. Any ideas. Recent carb rebuild, new governor, points and plugs. Thanks

not that it matters.. but a 47 would put it at the end of the 2n run, and beginning of the 8n run.

both front mount engines.. PERHAPS a different carb.. tsx 33/241 variant.. but they rebuild with the same kits.

Does some choke help when it dies?

Will it immediately restart after death?

Does it have spark at moment of stall?

( we need to isolate between fuel deliver or spark issue, then go from there )

As sound said no such thing as a 1947 9N last year of the 9N was 1942 and that is when the 2N came out.
The moment it dies check that you have a good blue white spark that will jump a 1/4 inch or more. No or weak spark the trouble shoot spark.
Next check for fuel flow by pulling the carb drain plug. Let ti flow for a few minutes. Catch it to look for water/dirt etc.
