Wiring a Massey Harris Pony

Hey all, I just got a 1949 Massey Harris Pony from my father in law. I have the shop/service manual and a wiring diagram. But having a hard time finding anything about the gauge of the wire. Its a 6 volt positive ground. What gauge of wire do I need? Wiring from battery to starter seem fine and the ground wire is good. So just wiring for starter button, on/off,ampmeter, oil pressure gauge, coils and all that stuff. Thanks

Base your wire size on the load the wire will be carrying.

Size 1 battery and starter cables should be sufficient for that small engine. The main feed from the battery to the ampmeter, and the armature wire from the generator need to be 10ga. The rest of the circuits carry very light loads, so 14ga will be sufficient.

Automotive wire is the best choice, it's finer strand and softer insulation make it easier to work with and more vibration resistant. Solder and heat shrink tube on the connectors make for a better job more professional appearance. Though not period correct for your tractor, the black plastic split loom covers keep everything organized.
