I went through one on a 3414 many years ago. Not terribly hard. If you take the housing off the main case and pull the plate on the front the entire cylinder and valve body comes out as a unit. I had the factory service manual. I may still have it. I'll have to look. I had to make a couple of special tools to get some of the valves out. Still have them, too. What is yours doing? Email me if you want. There was a new and old style piston/seal in the cylinder. IIRC there is an access cover on top to disconnect the linkage.

Hi when you turn the motor on the hydraulic arms lift to full height a d they will only go down if you turn the motor off

thanks in advance

It has draft control. There is a plunger that contacts an ear on the bracket where the top link connects. If the plunger is stuck it will stay in lift mode. Or the draft control spring could be broken. That would require taking the whole lift off. I have an IH diagnostic manual. I can scan it for you. Send me an email.

Traci,

I emailed you this link for the manual. Anyone is welcome to it. Past the link below into your browser to download it.
