Guys
I am new here and I just picked up a good running case 411b with a caseomatic trans, when I picked it up it went into reverse ok but when I got it home I have not been able to find reverse again. Also it seems to only have 1 forward gear like it's stuck or something, I read up on the idling it down to shift it but it seems to only go into 1st gear. Any direction would be appreciated as I have never owned a case before.

It is difficult to say what your problem is, not being there. It sounds like you have a problem with the shifting lever and forks, and you will need to remove the shifter cover. Don't try to pry the cover off once it is loose, or you may break the cover, as the rails can lock in the tranny if not positioned correctly when removeing the cover. As I mentioned before, go over to discussion boards on this site, and scroll down to the CASE forum and post your problem there. We will help you out with much more detail than you will get on this forum.

I had the same thing happen with my Case 610B...........once I had the shifter cover off I noticed that someone had left the DOWEL out of the Shifter Cover . I replaced the Dowel but the shifting forks were already bent. I purchased a $300.00 parts Tractor with perfect shifting forks and the dowel was still in the cover. Installed spare shifter cover and dowel from parts Tractor and all has ran perfect for the past 200 hrs. This is my first CASE so possibly it was more good luck than practical experience.

got the same sort of problem with the liberty 430,,ci would bet ,if you clean out tranny you will find a ball bearing in the bottom and remnants of a spring.. I intend to fix mine ,you should too ,,on my 430 reverse can be in neutral position sumtimes , sumtimes reverse just don't feel rite going in , but its there , and likely to pop out if I don't hold it in gear .. and most times it is normal ,,. sumtime I cant find it forhale ! gear shift lever is all over the place floppin around in nowhere land , sumtime 3rd is coglokt,, but most times after wigglin around for a minute I can find a slot and everthing is fine again,, that's quiker than the fast gal at the drivein movies ,,. lol
