NH 435 disk mower

Hi,

I am currently fixing up a NH 435 disk mower that has been in the hedge for a number of years. I was wondering what type of material I could use to make a gearbox gasket and also an oil bed gasket. All my local NH dealers no longer carry spares. Also I will need blades and possibly new belts. Does anyone carry spare parts for this machine?

There should be aftermarket parts available, just do a search, there are several to choose from.

Not sure about your particular gear box, but if there is a bearing race in the cover where you are replacing the gasket, the gasket also serves as a shim to preload the bearings. It may or may not be shimmed properly, and if you replace any bearings or shafts, the preload will need to be reset. You can use any kind of thin paper, just cut them to size, stack them as needed.

If there is a sheetmetal access cover, cork will be the best gasket.
