Bush Hog Servicing

New to group, excuse my ignorance. What oil type is used to service a Bush Hog gearbox? I have a old bush hog towed behind my John Deere, and would like to check all servicing levels. I am asking about the small square gearbox that the PTO Shaft connects to and drives the blade. Thanks.

I would expect either 85-90 or 85-140 gear lube. You want something heavy with lots of sulfur to cushion the impact on the gears. That's what I put in my hogs.

I have an old "Continental" brand, that wouldn't hold heavy weight gear oil. It all leaks out of the bottom seal. I took out the 1/2" fill plug, (pipe thread) and converted it down to a grease fitting. Holds several tubes.
