intro plus question

Hello everybody, hope all is doing well today! I am from Va and I own a about a 1987 cub cadet 1320. I am having some severe truoble with it and my grass is taking over. The dang thing want pull forward hardly at all now and barely goes backwards . I know nothing about hydrostatic trannys, and wandering if anyone can steer me into were to begin, I have checked fluids. but one day it might work and then not for a long time I cant understand whats wrong. Now I know its old and I am a fat man and begging it to perform on hill sides but its all I got for now. so any help would be appreciated. thanks Al

You may get more and better answers if you post this down in the garden tractor forum which is down lower. That said I would start by changing the hyd filter on it. Those Hydro drives are a pain and if hyd. pressure is low or the filter is clogged up it will do funny things
