I was cleaning up the rocker assembly and noticed that the ends were worn from the valve stems I'm thinking of just buffing them down with die grinder buffing wheel anybody have thoughts on it?[/img]

How are ya gonna get the arc reasonably correct and flat with the tip of the valve?

'Most any automotive machine shop used to be able to do that job, not so sure any more.

You'll have to ask around a bit, or someone will probably come forward with a place to send them to.

Yes there are jigs to hold proper arc but you would have to purchase one for every type rocker arm. Use a Cratex rubberized grinding wheel on bench grinder, and follow the unworn profile just enough to remove any worn pocket that will cause valve train noise. The rubber wheel is much more forgiving and controllable to do this and leaves a polished [not ground ] surface. Coarse, medium or fine Cratex wheel will work.

thank you all for the info, I did the best I could with what I had
laying the rack on the table I did one by one with a buffing pad and followed It up with emery cloth in stages from 180 to 400.I put the rack back on and looked at the contact points to the steams no uneven gaps could be seen.

I recondition rocker arms now and then.
